The first day at school can be daunting. However when everyone is having their first day at a brand new school it is extremely exciting. This photo was taken on opening morning as new students lined up in front of the school name to have photos taken by parents.
There were friendly welcoming staff situated outside the school able to direct parents and students to where they needed to be.
There were photographers to take photos for the local press and Education Department Officials chatting away with large smiles.
It was a happy, exciting and enjoyable occasion for all.
Traffic around the school premises was minimal with many new families travelling on foot. All the veloways and footpath areas were open for everyone to use. Regretfully there still isn’t any ‘hi vis’ paint to highlight the kerb separating the footpath from the veloway, the cause of several recent nasty mishaps.
The new school welcomed almost 300 new students to the ‘first day’, just as estimated by authorities.
Welcome to yet another perfect asset for this area.
