Residents have been enduring the hot northerly winds in this very warm spell of weather. Consistent northerly winds have meant hot days and nights. Hopefully a storm and 100mls of rain over a day or so isn’t far away!
The lakes at Canavan Gracie Recreational Park are just beginning to show some signs of red azolla. In previous years the red azolla has all but covered the lake. This year appears to be such that the problem isn’t anywhere as near as bad as it has been.

Residents at Bells Reach do not have access to regular Telstra phone services. There are no landlines and the only internet access is available via wireless. This is the case with all new estates nowadays as we are in the age of the National Broadband Network to supply phone and internet access.
If you visit the NBN website and put in your Bells Reach address you will see that work has begun, albeit planning work, on installing the NBN to the estate. Some sources indicate they will have full access to the NBN as of around May 2013. There are some areas of Bellvista which have ‘very ordinary’ internet access yet their neighbours in Bells Reach will enjoy the fastest access available.
In some previous cases where it has been proved to be financially expedient, some neighbouring estates to new estates being connected to the NBN have been connected as well. At this stage however, Bellvista is not on any immediate future plan to gain access to the NBN.
The BeCA Management committee is due for its first management meeting on Tuesday Jan 29th. One item up for discussion will be arrangements for the ‘official’ naming of Gracie Canavan Recreational Park. One would expect this date to be some time in March.
The first “Public Meeting” for 2013 will in in the old Land Sales Office in Canavan Gracie Recreational Park at 6:45 pm on Monday March 4th. Speakers will include Mr Rudy Goosem Principal of Unity College and Peter Pallot, Sunshine Coast Airport CEO for an update on the Caloundra Aerodrome Masterplan. All Bells Creek and Bellvista residents are welcome to attend. Entry is free. By signing the attendance roll and giving us an email address you are then considered for BeCA Membership.
