Despite the sun being out and the weather quite warm, our estate has received several heavy showers each day just to further saturate things. We have had over 100mls just this week. That is 4″ of rain in the last 4 days or so from ‘passing showers’!
However it is pleasing to see some more work is being done around the estate. The edges and around poles etc has been done on the main park areas.

This all occurred after the meeting with SCRC but this may have just been a coincidence! The parks are beginning to look much more appealing and cared for. The photo above left was taken this morning.
The light pole in the Bellvista Market Place carpark which was knocked and removed recently has now been put back up again as can be seen in the photo below left. With all the recent showery weather, the pathways have again become a little dangerous to the unsuspecting walker. The photo below right shows seepage from the high side of the path across the pathway to the low side. It is these areas in particular which can trap an unsuspecting walker and be quite slippery.
Both IGA and Pratt Property Group have indicated a public notice board is to be erected at the Bellvista Market Place. This would be a great spot to share news and events around the estate of a public nature. A notice board would be wonderful for residents to share this sort of information. Many Bellvista residents, especially the elderly do not have access to the internet. BeCA uses this website to broadcast its latest news. When we have access to a notice board these regular updates in the website’s “News & Events” tab can be printed out and displayed for all residents to read.
There seems to have been an increase in helicopter activity across the estate recently. If the behaviour of helicopters concerns you, remember you can voice your concern by phoning (07) 5453 1501 and registering a complaint. Even though you may have registered a complaint some time ago, you should go ahead register further complaints if you still have any concerns. The Airport Forum Complaint figures are based on the number of complaints per month. According to Airport Management, complaints are well down on a month to month basis. So their belief is that the behaviour of some helicopter pilots is no longer of any concern to Bellvista residents!
