Work is commencing on the next issue of “The Connector” and should be available for volunteer deliverers in around a fortnight. This time BeCA is having around 1500 copies printed to ensure we have enough to cover both Bellvista and Bells Reach. At this stage we anticipate we will deliver well over 200 copies to residents in Bells Reach.
A wine and cheese tasting is planned for those who wish to stay after the next Public Meeting which is due to be conducted on June 2nd. It won’t be your ordinary everyday ‘run of the mill’ wine and cheese night but rather a cut down version which promises challenges as well as the chance for you to put your wine tasting expertise into practice! BeCA guarantees that should still be fine to drive home after the event
Our guest speakers for this meeting is a ‘repeat’ of last year’s “Sunshine Coast Council Waste Management and Recycle” topic. This was a marvelous evening in 2013, one of extremely interesting facts, of very humorous stories and a thoroughly entertaining evening for all. We desire to steer away from the controversy of repetitive circuits by helicopters and focus on a subject which is less controversial but remains extremely entertaining and informative.
From a personal perspective this was a topic which I believed was less than enthralling when set for a Public Meeting in 2013. How wrong I was, it turned out to be a sensational night with a presentation delivered by an extremely entertaining and thoroughly knowledgeable person.
This promises to be the last ever Public Meeting in the Old Land Sales Office. Stockland will commence a total refurbishment of the building beginning at the commencement of the new financial year. The new Community Meeting Place will be a marvelous facility for the Bells Reach and Bellvista Communities. Hopefully the refurbishment will be completed by the September Public Meeting. It seems this will be a tight squeeze but Stockland are hopeful all will be ready in time.
Next time you are near the Old Land Sales Office check the sign on the block of land between the lake and the Retirement Village (See Photo left). The sign is a notice of proposed “Change of Use”. It seems someone wants to build a Child Care Centre there!

Consider the traffic issues with children being dropped off there both before and after sessions. Think of the idea of a Child Care Centre beside a Retirement Village.
You do wonder where people get these notions from at times? Another Child Care Centre is already up and running less than 500m away!
If you wanted to build a Child Care Centre in this area the ideal spot would be at Bells Reach and not far away from the Land Sales Office there. You would have ready made parking, a Cafe for people waiting to collect their child and an out of the way location with minimal disruption to local traffic!
There is an email address for those wishing to provide feedback viewable on the larger copy of the photo. You may also wish to forward a copy of your email to our Councillor as well. Click HERE.
