BeCA President Les Thomas decided to check traffic conditions at the roadworks on Bellvista Blvd for himself this morning. What followed was an angry confrontation between the BeCA President and a foreman who appeared to be managing the roadworks outside the agreement between this community and Stockland. The agreement was that all roadworks would be suspended and the second lane be opened whenever possible during school pickup and dropoff times to allow peak traffic to move more easily.
Stockland were immediately informed and some of their staff were directed to the Bellvista Blvd roadworks site to put a stop to activity there and open the second lane whenever possible as agreed to during school pickup and drop off times.
Stockland have issued a sincere and unreserved apology to all residents who have been affected and deeply regrets what has been happening.
BeCA suspects there will be follow up action taken with the contractor.
Hopefully the traffic issues which have been plaguing our community during the Bellvista Blvd roadworks will now be lessened.
