There were least 15 in attendance at the SCRC Caloundra Offices to hear an update on the Draft Caloundra Airport Masterplan.
There was little if any new information available. Again the question of relocation using public/private financing was raised. The answer was that the brief the Masterplan Team had focussed on was for the next 20 or so years of the Caloundra Airport on its current site.
BeCA pursued its suggestion on a Satellite Helicopter Training facility as a way to cut down on aircraft noise for nearby residents. A representative from Chopperline said his company would be anxious to use such a facility. The proposal wasn’t included in the Airport Masterplan as it only related to the Caloundra Airport site.
Sunshine Coast Airport CEO Peter Pallot is scheduled to address the next BeCA Public Meeting at 6:45pm on Nov 5th at the old Land Sales Office on the Caloundra Airport Masterplan. All residents of Bellvista and Bells Reach are welcome to attend.
