There has been a proliferation of weeds in many Bells Reach lawn areas. Council told BeCA today it is policy not to spray weeds on environmental grounds but to keep them under control with regular mowing.
Council contracts a specific number lawn mowing cuts annually. With a lack of recent rain, the weeds are beginning to take hold. Currently Council has put a hold on lawn mowing until there is some rain which will spark growth and a need to mow.
So Council is caught between a rock and a hard place right now. However with showers predicted this week the next mow shouldn’t be far away.
Council is inspecting the areas in question today to get a first hand view of the concerns.
